Anyone in cosplay may enter. This means you, person in the cosplay that took 6 months to make, but who is now standing off to the side thinking you aren’t good enough! Cosplay is for EVERYONE. Don’t doubt yourself.
I spent a lot of time on this, but some pieces were purchased. It’s okay! We want 80% of your costume to be made by you, but don’t worry, modification of purchased items is allowed. The judges know what they are looking for and what they want to see.
Okay, serious question. How do I become the BlerDCon Cosplay Champion? This one is easy! You need to have made EIGHTY PERCENT of your costume. We know that store bought costumes and commissioned costumes show just as much love for the character you’re cosplaying, but the place of Champion must go to the person that is not only an embodiment of their character, but also whose cosplay showcases the level of skill they put into their costume. This year we are focusing heavily on quality completed work as a whole. From top knot to boot cover!
Alright, I want to enter. How do I submit an entry and when does it start? Online entry begins now and will be cut off after we’ve selected 35 contestants. In-person entries will be accepted the weekend of the con until 12 Noon on Saturday we reach 50 entries in total. Pre-judging will be from 1pm until 3:30pm and the Cosplay Contest Showcase will begin at 6pm. Remember! You need to walk the stage during the showcase in order to be considered for any of the winning places!!!
Is that everything? Yep! Just remember the most important rule! HAVE FUN ! ! ! ! !
